When we fail
You reached the bottom of our homepage and we are happy about it because this means that you are interested in us. We appreciate this a lot and that is why we decided to share bad things about us and bad cases we had with our customers so far.
Once we get a customer by recommendation from a new country and were supper happy about it.
He wanted to start working right away and required fast estimation of his project.
It was ERP system which we estimated after 15 minutes of thinking as 3 months of work. We gave fixed amount to our customer without any project documentation. We just promised to do all the things needed.
Then we started working on it.
We were hardly in the middle to the final result after 3 months and with each weekly meeting our customer requested more and more features.
We finished the project in 7 months with 6000 EUR loss for our company and unsatisfied customer who expected it to be finished in 3 months.
Now we carefully annoy our customers with finding out all details about their request before giving the estimation.
With one of our many years customer we agreed to make major updates for upcoming marketing campaign.
We agreed to receive an email from him with all details.
One week after in our weekly meeting he asked where is the update and we realised that we didn’t receive any email and forget about it completely.
We had 2 days and nights to finish what was planned for a week.
It was hell because one of the programmer was sick and made bad coding which required a lot of testing and corrections afterwards.
We are more careful with after meeting tasks now.
Many customers come to us with a desire to improve their web tool which is badly made right from the beginning by some other company they paid.
We propose to change it to something different right from the scratch but with no succes.
We read the code and see that it is horrible and we know that any changes we make can provoke many mistakes.
For one of those customers we spend about 1200 hours to correct the code while it will take only 700 hours to rebuild it from the scratch.
Customer paid much more after all and we still suffer.
